Cacao Musica is proud to announce its first Summer Concert Series at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. Cacao Musica is a new Venezuelan record label co-founded by drummer/broadcaster Omar Jeanton and Yankee baseball's Bobby Abreu.

Our series Cosecha 2008 will help the label’s mission of raising the international profile of the many great musicians hailing from Venezuela, the Caribbean and elsewhere in Latin America. Its offerings span diverse musical genres and styles including jazz, fusion, Afro-Latin, Afro-Venezuelan, pop, folk and instrumental music.

We begin our series  “A Taste of Cacao – Cosecha 2008” with Negroni’s Trio, the remarkable father/son team of pianist José Negroni and drummer Nomar Negroni. Featuring sax player Ed Calle and bassist Marco Panascia as special guests.

Our second presentation will showcase Aquiles Baez. The Venezuelan-born, Berklee-trained guitarist who has worked with the who's who of Latin-inspired jazz innovators such as Paquito D'Rivera, Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Romero Lubambo and more.

Finally, our last presentation will be by, also Venezuelan-born, singer-songwriter Luz Marina. She will reveal music from her long awaited and “poetry packed” album “Coincidencias.”
